Approved Provider Standard

The Approved Provider Standard (APS) is a UK benchmark for organisations providing one-to-one, volunteer mentoring.

 

APS is a national award, designed and developed by the Mentoring and Befriending Foundation (MBF), that aims to provide your programme with a badge of competence for good practice in mentoring.

 

APS aims to ensure the consistency and quality of mentoring programmes by sharing and guaranteeing best practice in such areas as referral and preparation of mentees and recruitment, preparation and training of mentors.

 

Benefits of achieving APS

• Your organisation will receive recognition for good practice
• Your programme will be entered onto a national database of approved providers
• Certification and use of the 'Approved Provider' logo will help promote your programme
• Increased public confidence in your mentoring programme
• Helps promote your programme to potential mentees/mentors
• Provides a 'health check' of your programme and access to further guidance should you wish to make improvements.
