Each training session is designed to be participative using a range of training methods such as:
Group Work - group work involved individuals working with others in a group (e.g. 3 or more people) to discuss or chat about a specific topic or to complete a task.
Wordstorming - wordstorming (also known as brainstorming) is used to create a list of ideas on a given topic. Participants' words, phrases or feelings are recorded on a flipchart.
Role Play - in role play, participants are assigned certain roles, which they are asked to act out. Role plays should be limited in time and always discussed by participants afterwards. Debriefing is very important.
Case Studies or Scenarios - these are short exercises that are best carried out in small groups. They describe a situation or issue in writing, which directs the group in discussing and exploring solutions.
Mind Mapping - mind mapping is a way to think creatively and capture a natural flow of ideas. The tutor manual includes guidance on how to run each type of activity used.
