About the Jump on Board! Tutor Manual

The Jump on Board! tutor manual has been developed by the Volunteer Development Agency in consultation with Down District Volunteer Centre. The resource is an initiative of Down District Volunteer Centre and is jointly funded by Millennium Volunteers and Comic Relief.

The tutor manual is designed as a straightforward guide for any experienced tutor/trainer who is accustomed to working with young people. It contains the following items for each of the six sessions:

1. Session outline - a one-page snapshot of each two hour session.
2. List of handouts - lists all resources, exercises, etc. required for the training, as well as a checklist for the tutor in preparing for training such as gathering materials for arts based activities.
3. Tutor notes - provides a framework for facilitating training.
4. Handouts - handouts, exercises, scenarios, A3 posters, etc. that can be photocopied for training.

Delivery of the course does not required specialist understanding of the role and responsibilities of voluntary management committees. The manual does not therefore contain detailed information on this area.
