GoldMark is a dynamic volunteer initiative designed to promote and recognise sports volunteering among young people aged 16-24. It will build on the existing successes of Millennium Volunteers and include the specific inspiration of 2012 to ensure sport is included as a widely recognised voluntary activity. GoldMark has been awarded an Inspire Mark by the London Organising Committee Olympic Games.
It involves the participants completing either 50, 100 or 200 hours of voluntary activity. Governing bodies/local council/events/education establishments will act as the Delivery Partner in order to recruit and match volunteers to new or existing opportunities.
It has commenced as a pilot with Univeristy of Ulster, North West 200 and Down District Council and will expand as the programme develops.
