2012 Project

The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games present a unique opportunity to inspire and create a new generation of volunteers in Northern Ireland. Volunteer Now is determined to spread the Olympic spirit wider than the Games themselves and have many initiatives taking place here and now your you to get involved in. The London Organising Committee Olympic Games (LOCOG) is currently planning their volunteer programme and recruitment will start in July 2010. With their pledge to recruit from right across the UK and from all sectors of the community we are determined that Northern Ireland will play an active part to bring passion, enthusiasm and energy to the Games.

The vision of the NI Volunteer Strategy is to “involve, recognize and maximize the contribution of volunteers as part of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games as a catalyst for inspiring increased volunteering”.
