About the organisation
Share runs a lake side activity centre dedicated to the promotion of opportunities for people of all ages, backgrounds, and disabilities to take part in recreational, educational and social activities in equality with their able-bodied counterparts.

Opportunities available
Long-term volunteering opportunities are for a period of up to a year. Other short term opportunities are for a period of up to a year. Volunteers tend to specialise in one field. Other short-term opportunities are available between May and October. Volunteers who are acting as carers to individual visitors usually work for the full seven days of the visitor's stay. Other volunteers, who are staying for longer than a week, work five days a week. There is usually a team of 12 - 24 volunteers working at any one time.

About the work
Volunteers are involved in all aspects of the centre's work, for example, catering, carers, acting as companions to disabled visitors and activity leaders who run the outdoor sports and recreational activity programmes. The centre also has a volunteers building work team and a senior outdoor volunteer corp. who train people aged 45+ to become outdoor instructors.

Experience and skills
No experience is needed, only a willingness to help.

Other requirements
Volunteers should be able to get along with other people of all ages and backgrounds, have lots of patience, be willing to work hard and have a flexible approach. Volunteers must be over 16.
