Conservation Volunteers One-Off Opportunities

The Green Gym is a health initiative by Conservation Volunteers aimed at getting people to be more active and thinking healthier as physically active people are less likely to suffer from heart disease and strokes. The Green Gym takes place every Saturday and is an alternative to indoor fitness gyms and utilises the outdoors to compliment and enhance the experience as well as doing something positive for the local environment. (Pick up point for Green Gym volunteers: 159 Ravenhill Road, Belfast between 09:30 and 9:45)

  • Saturday 31 March: Today we will carry out a variety of tasks including working on the demonstration plot at Knockbracken Wildflower Nursery. For more information or to register: Green Gym Volunteers 31 March

 

You can also volunteer with Conservation Volunteers on a Wednesday and get involved in the creation and development of Glenbank Community Garden Tasks will include ome vegetation clearance and the preparation of beds for the future growing of fruit and vegetables. (Meet at Glenbank Park - off Ligoniel Road in North Belfast)
