European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity Between Generations

2012 has been designated the European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity Between Generations.
Over the past three years Volunteer Now's Unlocking Potential Project has been both actively promoting and leading research on the health and well being benefits of volunteering for people from older age groups. Events such as the One Good Reason Action Day have allowed people aged 50+ to give volunteering a try with local organisations.
Volunteer Now will tie in with EY2012 to continue to highlight the positive benefits of volunteering and see it as an opportunity to highlight how volunteering can play a part of a healthy and happy ageing process as well as providing ongoing opportunities for generations to come together through volunteering.
